What should be done with those weirdos who sexually violate or otherwise endanger or harm our children?

How about protecting the children rather than the predator? ... how about enforcing laws already on the books, or enacting sufficient, new laws that will get these rapists, kidnappers, pedophiles, murderers and all lowlife weirdos, who live and breathe to do nothing other than hurt our children, off our streets and far away from decent folk? ... how about seating judges who possess the courage, character and brass to avail themselves to the severest extent of the sentencing guidelines already in place for these crimes against humanity, and put these habitual scumbags in their place? ... jail ... prison ... a deserted island ... or a grave -- and that ain't just Jack Squat!

Comment Contest!!
I guess we get our share of visitors... but evidently, not many that can read and write... they just look at the pictures, click on the blue words and enjoy the embedded media, steal a stick of candy and move on.

I'm just funnin' ... to be fair, some do take part in our polls ... so they can read, maybe even write, not sure. The purpose of our current poll is to find out why them what can, aren't... commenting, that is!

Folks not commenting is probably commonplace but we sure would like your opinion(s)... even though it may be a bit of an imposition for some, having to write and all.

Here it is ... our latest poll ... What's the primary reason you choose not to respond to posts that you've read?
Also, please let us know of any others that you think really belong on the list ... and why!

As the poll description indicates, we'd actually like to know just the opposite ... what influences you to comment so please do let us know!

Yes, it's a trick to get you to comment ... but, it's much more than that.

As indicated, the Jackass has all the advantages ... he's deserving of more comments and I encourage them ... just put them in with the Shop's comments for the currently featured post ... rather than in his Stall so that I get the credit!

We seriously do want your comments with regard to the "comments question" and comments relative to the lead posts ... as well as anything that's on your mind ... it's what we're about.

The Southern Jackass and I are engaged in a little competition... his being able to write gives him an unfair advantage but it should be fun and hopefully productive.

New visitors should note that in addition to the Shop's lead posts there are 8 "Special Features," including the Southern Jackass' Stall... full of oats, satire, tall tales and such! The Special Feature menu table in this sidebar provides one click access to the Stall and the other seven ... we hope you'll visit each.

It's his stall pitted against The Shop ... featured lead posts, that is. winner's Fudge

The one getting the largest number of relevant comments to their respective lead posts between now and year's end wins a year's supply of homemade chocolate/pecan fudge from the loser!

Prizes for you too... best comment... most relevant comments... and a special prize to the one bringing the most new commentators to the Shop... that is, if we can figure out to determine the winner ... maybe more!

It should be fun for all!

The welcome mat is out and the smoking lamp is lit!!

Gays in the Military - Yea or Nay?

It seems that the vast majority of Americans, 75% according to a Washington Post-ABC News poll ... support admitted homosexuals serving in the military, up from 62 percent in early 2001 and 44 percent in 1993.
President ObamaIt now appears certain that our President will sign into law something affirming their right to so do.

Perhaps not relevant but I think it begs the question as to how attitudes relative to such a deep seated, emotionally charged issue can change so dramatically in such a relatively short period of time.

Regardless of this apparent change in attitude by the masses, our question has to do with what should be the deciding factors and who should decide whether those who are openly homosexual should be allowed to serve in the military.

One of our choices isn't a choice at all ... rather a choice rejection ... "the question is simply too important, complex ... and evokes such strong emotion for it to be decided in the political arena where private agenda and political advantage heavily influence decisions" ...

Here's the big question ... what should control the decision as to whether homosexuals should be allowed to serve in the military?
As most always, please let us know of any others that you think really belong on the list of choices ... and why!

Keep Choppin' ... too far back with no more to play

Well, Congratulations and good luck to the Rockies! We're still chopping ... the Braves made a great run ... just ran out of time and came up a bit short. On what things do you place the greatest blame?

Let's win it all in 2010!
