To what would you have your kids aspire?

Back when I was growing up, I remember wanting to be a soldier so I could kill Nazis and Nips ... nobody told me they made cars, computers and TVs!

At different times, I wanted to be an Engineer so I could blow the steam engine's mighty whistle ... farmer, cowboy, fireman, policeman, teacher, doctor, test pilot, explorer ... I wanted to be all them too!

Unfortunately, Mama made me take dancing lessons and study hard ... 'cause she wanted me to be the Mayor of Atlanta or President of the United States!

Daddy said to be honorable in all that you do and always strive to be the very best ... but, be satisfied if you are the very best that you can be!

I became an actuary ...

Kids is different and time changes 'bout everything ... including that to which they aspire ... and, what their folks want for them too, methinks.

If you're a parent what had your druthers, to what would you have your kids aspire? If you're a kid what's still aspiring, please excuse my misuse and abuse of our language and tell us what you want to be!

Well, whatever your aspirations ... for yourself, your children or theirs ... I hope it encompasses and supports Daddy's three notions! Be Honorable ... strive to be the best ... be satisfied with being the very best you can be!

Our Poles

You'll find our Polls scattered throughout the place ... Main Shop and Special Features too! Polls is usually spelled and pronounced Poles in The Shop ... but if you pronounce 'em Polls 'cause it makes you more comfortable, most of us will still understand. Of course, they're all right here too! You can read them all without having to move ... vote and comment on each and every one ... well, you can't vote on them Poles what's already closed! Use the Menu Lists in the side bar to retrieve those you think might be interesting. For those embedded or otherwise associated with a specific post ... we'll include an abbreviated version and/or links to the to its relevant piece. Poles is easy to spot, whether they're embedded in a Post or standing alone in one of the sidebars.

The animated barber's pole with the word "POLL" is a dead giveaway for them what need help to figure it out! Some of the Poles use "check boxes" to allow for multiple selections ... while others use "radio buttons" and allow you but one choice. If your preferred response isn't among those we've included, no problem ... just let us know with your comments. Some of the poles may even provide a text box so that you can add your choice to the list of possible responses!

No telling how many Polls we'll have ... that'll depend on you, your interest and participation, as well as our energy levels. They're here for your enjoyment but hopefully they'll make folks stop and think too ... and as the level of participation increases, they might even have an influence on our visitors ... today the Shop, tomorrow the world!! You let us know too of any suggestions you may have for future Poll Questions ... we'll try to include them, or perhaps write a special Post (better yet, you write it ... we'll post it)! Check 'em out ... as you can see, it's easy ... usually just one click ... but sometimes two!
